Well, Excuse Me!!

My H2 is quite a polite child. She promptly says her 'Thank you's and 'Excuse me's and 'Please.' But she refuses to say 'Sorry.' Can you believe how arrogant my two year old is? However, should one of us (mostly her Akki) manages to make a mistake, H2 would demand a 'sorry ' from us.

One day while I was playing with her she said something about "Haal" (raw rice). Thinking that she's like to play with some I took her to the kitchen and got her some rice in a small container. Apparently she DIDN'T want rice. She started crying and said very firmly, "I don't want rice. Ammi say sorry to me! Say sorry and give me a kiss!" and she thrust her cheeky cheeks at me for me to apologize!

To Kill a Mocking Mama

My H2 is definitely a Mama's girl. She clings to me when ever I am home and I know for a fact that I am her favorite person :) So anything good happening should happen to Mama.

Recently, all of my Hubbies family got together and all the little cousins were playing in bed. My Hubby was lying down, so all the little ones were jumping on him and L girl said "I am going to kill you H Maami," while pretending to strangle him. H2 hearing this and not knowing the meaning of the word kill; but would have thought it was something good and wanting it of cause to happen to her mom, said quickly, "Don't kill my father, kill my Ammi!"

Little "Gotta"

Sometimes we call H2 "Dimi Gotta" (A Weaver Ants nest) because her name sounds very similar to "Dimi." Recently her cousin asked H2 what her name was and she promptly replied DIMI GOTTA! I hope she doesn't tell everyone that when she goes to school next year :)

We are Back!!!

Wow! Eight whole months without visiting my blog!!! Sad, sad, sad!!

I'm not going to make any excuses. Even I don't know why I kept away. Why have I returned? Just like I was compelled to start the blog when H1 was about two because of all the interesting things she said and did, now H2 has started doing the same! I just HAVE to keep a record of them in case I forget.....

Ah! My H2....We call her the clown. She makes us laugh so much! And she is SUCH a con artist that it amazes us that such a tiny brain can think up such clever excuses, but she does it with such charm and cuteness, she'll get away with murder!

My H1? She is slowly becoming very lady like. Much less trouble. Oh I wish I could hold back time so my babies don't grow up so fast! H1 will be in grade 3 next year and H2 will start play group! Sigh.....

A Butt-tree

My H2 can now speak in 3 word sentences. Not bad for a 19 month old!

She says "Baba TV daana!" and actually bring the remote to switch to Baby TV
"Thaaththi minthy geenna" when she wants to drink Milk

Most of her words start or end with the "th" sound like thith (sit) thar (star)

She can also sing "Twinkle, twinkle little star, how i" (that's as far as she gets :)

But that's not the interesting story. H1 said to me yesterday, "Ammi, Nangi can say Battery. Only she says it like butt-tree. That means a tree full of butts!!" She giggles and adds, "so if our butts fall off, we can pick one from the tree and attach it!"

So, how have you been?

Didn't even realize that I haven't posted over a month! It's not that my kids have gotten less interesting. It's just just I've been a tad busy with work.

So, is everyone enjoying the world cup? We are! Hubby stayed in line from 5.00 am to get tickets last week. Sad that it had to rain. My kidos were supporting Sri Lanka all the way, rain or shine :)

Can you believe H2 is 18 months now? How time flies. She knows loads of words now. She sings "Theeee Thaw upanddoooon" and "Amma nooooooo, pappa noooo, aaapppa nooooo "

L of a problem!

Was going through my old blog posts and came across this gem. :)

Hubby took Hooty to work one day and as usual she started asking questions about so many things. As many parents know…some things are hard to explain to a 4 year old!

Hooty: “Thaaththi, what’s your office called?”

Hubby: (trying to get off easily) “Well, the building where I work is called Noel.”

Hooty: “Thaaththi, how do you spell it?”

Hubby: “N…O…E…L”

Hooty: “NO! NO! NO! You said No ‘L’!”

Hubby: “But darling that’s how the word ‘Noel’ is spelled.

Hooty: (Whimpering and mad as ‘L’) “But you said NO ‘L’ so no ‘L’ in the spelling!”

And on and on it went and Hubby finally gave up and thought to ‘L’ with it and said, “OK then, no ‘L’.”

I'm in someones dreams...

H1 got a diary from her Puncha. She is so exited about writing in it that she was conjuring up all sorts of things to write. Unfortunately, nothing exiting seems to be happening, but who else better provide material for her than yours truly?

H1 was being rather rude to me so I sent her off to her room to cool down. After a while Hubby went over and had a chat with her and explained why she was sent to her room and asked her to apologize to me.

H1 reluctantly came over and said, "I am sorry Ammi." After giving me a hug she explodes, "But I am still going to write in my diary that you are my worst nightmare!"

Hubby took her back to her room to explain that writing nasty things in diaries might not be the way to go :)

What's in a name?

So, Santa brought H1 a Dora Monopoly set this time. Only H1 calls it Mala Pani (my Singhala readers will appreciate this ;)

What ever it's called, we are having loads of fun playing it though! (H1nta indala hitala Mala Paninawa though, especially when she's loosing!)
